Mia Richardson, the creator of Comphy, has an inspirational story to tell about the softest sheets I’ve ever encountered in all my life! She started obsessing over soft linens at a young age when experiencing homemade sheets her grandmother would make out of flannels. This was the beginning of Mia’s passion for quality luxurious fabrics! In the early 2000’s, as a single mother, she started the Comphy company by maxing out her credit cards and traveling back and forth to California and New York for exposure.
When she would seek start-up money from banks they would turn her down although she had excellent credit, because they didn’t see her vision and sexism may have had something to do with it, but that didn’t stop Mia from dreaming BIG! When her financial situation was tough, she rented out her home and lived in her warehouse for eight months. When obstacles came her way, Mia continued to push forward. She completed expansive research for years on the best fabrics, which resulted in Comphy sheets.
She has also conducted sleep studies and won many awards. Her first customer was the Ritz Carlton Hotel in New York. Mia’s hard-work and determination made her dream a reality! Her company is now the leading brand of sheets in the Spa Industry, worldwide, and Comphy sheets are now in 95% of all Forbes 5 Star properties.
